Day one: Travel day was upon us with a 24-hour journey
consisting of 22 hours on a coach along with a 2-hour ferry journey. The
journey saw all pupils entertaining themselves with technological devices and
the upper years entertaining half of the coach with a sing along. The only
difficulty of this trip was being able to sleep due to not having the comforts
of a regular bed along with the excitement and adrenaline, yet the majority
managed a few hours. One of the most memorable moments of the travels was our
breakfast stop to McDonalds, only to discover that they would not be serving
hot food until 11am and they decided to serve a hot chocolate as angel delight.
All in all though it must be said that the journey went well and the teachers
were a real credit, not to mention the pupils. A FANTASTIC start to the week
ahead.
After the tiring journey, we decided that it was time to have
lunch before going off to collect our skis for the forthcoming week of skiing. Yet
again the pupils were a credit to themselves and the school and as a reward it
was decided that on our return it was time for the annual snowball championship
which all parties of the trip enjoyed and it was great to have some quality
teacher and pupil time. After dinner, it was decided that the pupils would have
an early night, although the year 11s opted for an hour of revision before they
got their heads down for a good night’s sleep before they hit the slopes for
their first day of skiing in 2017.
Mentions and thanks must go to the following pupils who
helped me with today’s blog update, Mary, Jess, Zoe,
Eliana & Adena.
